Enable Java: Choose this to allow Netscape to interpret pages containing
+ Java. Java and JavaScript are used on some Web page to incorporate interactive
+ and multimedia content.

Enable JavaScript for Navigator: Chooose this to allow Navigator
+ to interpret pages containing JavaScript.

Enable Javascript for Mail and New: Choose this to allow Navigator
+ to interpret pages containing Javascript.

Send this email address as anonymous FTP password: Type an email
+ address that you want to use as your password when logging into an FTP site
+ anonymously.

Enable Quick Launch: Select this if you want to shorten the time
+ it takes to start Netscape. You will have to reboot your computer for Quick
+ Launch to take effect.
+
Note: "Enable Quick Launch" appears only on Windows-based
+ platforms.
Memory Cache: Type in the amount of memory-based cache you want to
+ allocate for Netscape. Memory cache is erased when you turn off or restart
+ the computer.

Disk Cache: Type in the amount of disk cache, and disk cache you
+ want to allocate for Netscape. Disk cache is saved to your hard disk (drive)
+ and can be used again.

Clear Memory Cache: Click this to clear the memory cache.
+
Clear Disk Cache: Click this to clear the memory cache.
+
Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network:

Every time I view the page: Select this if you want Netscape
+ to compare a web page to the cache every time you view it.

Automatically: Select this if you want Netscape to compare a
+ web page to the cache when the page is determined by the server to haved expired.

Once per session: Select this if you want Netscape to compare
+ a web page to the cache once for each time you start Netscape.
+
Never: Select this if you do not want Netscape to compare cached
+ information to the network.
Before you start: Ask your network administrator if you have a proxy
+ configuration file or for the names and port numbers of the proxy.

Direct connection to the Internet: Choose this if you don't want
+ to use a proxy.
+
Manual proxy configuration: Choose this if you don't have a proxy
+ location (URL). Type the name or numeric IP address of the proxy server for
+ each type of server (FTP, Gopher, HTTP, SSL, SOCKS). In "No Proxy for:,"
+ type the domains that you do not want to use a proxy for. Separate each domain
+ with a comma. (Example: .yourcompany.com, .yourcompany.co.nz)

Automatic proxy configuration URL: Choose this if you have a proxy
+ configuration file or URL, then type the configuration URL.
Modifier Key: Use the the drop-down list to choose a key that you
+ want to press when using the mouse wheel. Select on of the radio buttons in
+ order to choose the behavior of the mouse wheel. (for scrolling and text).
Used to specify what files and protocols are opened using Netscape.

+ file types that you want to open by default using Netscape (HTML, JPEG, GIF,
+ PNG, XML, XUL).

Fonts for: Choose a language character set. For instance, to set
+ default fonts for the Western (Roman) character set, choose "Western."
+
Proportional: Select whether proportional text should be serif (like
+ Times Roman) or sans-serif (like Arial). You can also specify what font size
+ you want for proportional text. Proportional text is variable in width, so
+ characters and letters vary in width.
+
Serif: Select a serif font you want to use for web pages.
+
Sans-serif: Select a sans-serif font you want to use for web pages.
+
+
Cursive: Select a cursive font you want to use for web pages.
+
Fantasy: Select a fantasy you want to use for web pages.
+
Monospace: Select a monospace font (like Courier) you want to use
+ for web pages. Monospace text is fixed in width, so each character or letter
+ takes the same amount of space.
+
Allow documents to use other fonts: If available, select this checkbox
+ to keep a web page's font and size settings instead of your own preferences.
+
Display resolution: Select from the drop-down list the dots per inch
+ (dpi) for displaying web pages. Select "Other" to open the Calibrate
+ Resolution dialog box, which allows you to calibrate your resolution by measuring
+ how long a line appears on your screen. Increased screen resolution may will
+ improve text readability on some screens.
+
Used to set the background and text colors on web pages.
+
+
Text and Background: Click the colored blocks to select a color for
+ displaying text and backgrounds on web pages. Check "Use system colors"
+ to use your system color settings.
+
Link Colors: Click the colored blocks to select a color for displaying
+ unvisited and visited links on web pages. Click "Underline links"
+ to display underlined links on web pages.
+
When a web page provides its own colors and backgrounds: Choose from
+ the two options, "Always use the colors and background specified by the
+ web page" or "Use my chosen colors, ignoring the colors specified"
+ to display pages using colors and backgrounds specified by either the web
+ page or by you, respectively.
+
View Source Window: Click "Enable syntax viewing" to enable
+ you to see the HTML syntax of the souce of a web page highlighted in specific
+ colors.
Themes: Choose one of the installed themes to change the look of
+ Netscape, and then click "Apply [Theme Name]" to make change. Click
+ "Uninstall [Theme Name]" to remove the theme instead.
+
Note: You will not be able to switch back to a theme you have uninstalled.
+
Note:To see a new theme, you need to quit and restart Netscape
+ after you apply a new theme.
Used to select a content pack to use within Netscape.

Installed content packs: Select a content pack to use within Netscape.
+ Content packs customize the content within parts of Netscape, like toolbars,
+ My Sidebar, and bookmarks.
+
Download More: Click this to download more content packs.

Note: You must restart Netscape for a new content pack to take effect.

+ to start with the home page. Select "Last page visited" to start
+ with the last page Netscape visited.

Home Page: Type the web page you want as your home page, or click
+ "Use Current Page" to choose the web page currently displayed on
+ Navigator. Click "Choose File" to locate a file on disk that you
+ want to load as your home page.
+
Select the buttons you want to see in the toolbar: Select any of
+ the following buttons to appear on your toolbar: Bookmarks, Search, My Netscape,
+ Go, Toolbar Search, Net2Phone, Home, Print, Shop.

Browsing History: Type the number of days you want Netscape to keep
+ track of the web pages you have previously visited. Click "Clear History"
+ to delete the list of sites visited. For example, if you set this number to
+ 10 days, pages 10 days old or less will be kept in History.

Location Bar History: Click "Clear Location Bar" to clear
+ the list of sites in the Location bar menu.
+
Session History: Type the number of web pages Netscape keeps track

Used to handle how different file types are opened by other applications in
+ Netscape.

File types: To add a new file type, click New Type and type or choose
+ the description, file extension, MIME type, and application.To edit a selected
+ file type, click Edit to change the file type information. To remove a selected
+ file type, click Remove.
+
File Type Details: Displays the file extension, MIME type, and program
+ that will be used to open each file of the selected filetype.
Used to set the What's Related My Sidebar tab, Internet Keywords, and Location
+ bar autocomplete.

What's Related My Sidebar Tab: Type an Internet domain name and click
+ Add if you do not want Netscape to request What's Related information for
+ that domain. Select Remove to remove a selected domain from the unrequested
+ domain list.

Internet Keywords: Select Enable Internet Keywords to enable fast
+ access to services such as stock quotes, search, and other information from
+ the Location bar. Click "More Information" to learn more about Internet
+ Keywords.

Location Bar Autocomplete: Click "Enable Location bar autocomplete"
+ to automatically complete text you previously entered into the Location bar.
Default Search Engine: Use the drop-down list to select the search
+ engine you want use for web searching.

Search Results: Select "Open the Search tab in My Sidebar when
+ search results are available" to have Netscape open My Sidebar and show
+ your search results.

My Sidebar Search Tab Preference: Select Basic to select one search
+ engine from a list when searching in Netscape. Select Advanced to select one
+ or more search engines from a list when searching in Netscape.
