5dfeb46196 use getService not createIstance for getting the account manager data source. minor code cleanup -- add a couple removeEventListener calls. remove a global variable that isn't used anywhere.

b6c35348c2 Bug #386698 --> don't use nsIURLFormatter::FormatUrlPref as that is causing start.xhtml to get loaded as a string bundle properties file. This was leading to a lot of noise in the console.
