ef53031397 Prepend option to LDFLAGS instead of overriding it for solaris. 
Remove explicit linking against libCrun for solaris.
Only update CFLAGS & LDFLAGS when testing zlib,jpeg,png &mng if the appropriate _DIR variable is set.

4df6348887 Do not set initial variables to 0 unless you explicitly test using ifeq (1,$(var)) in the makefiles. gmake will treat variables set to 0 as defined.
