420bd98c1a 95614 - Initialized an iterator and replaced NS_ENSURE_SUCCESS ( which asserts), since the result code from nsScanner::Peek() does not indicate an exceptional condition, with equivalent code. r=heikki, sr=waterson.

af8fa6cdf9 Trying to fix Mac bustage by building stuff that should not need to be built. The real fix would probably be to turn on the environment variable MOZ_DISABLE_DTD_DEBUG but I do not know how.

51b17b5bf0 Bug 88413: Remove |GetUnicode()| from nsString (and replace it with |get()|). r=dbaron, rs=scc. 
This removes all call-sites I can currently fix. Tomorrow I'll try to get someone to checkin my changes to security/ and I'll get some help with the Netscape side of things.

nsString::GetUnicode()'s final death-blow will be dealt soon. Please keep this in mind as you add new code :-)

599c0d0fe9 Fix for bug 81253. We now sniff upto the first 2k of the first buffer of any HTML stream, looking for a META tag with charset information. If charset information is found, we use it for unicode conversion. This deals with the bulk of cases where we used to do a reload based on charset information in the document. In the worst case (if charset information exists but isn't found during sniffing) we fall back to the reload case. This fix improves initial page load performance for pages with a charset. Degradation in performance for pages loaded out of the cache is still being investigated. r=harishd, sr=waterson

c93bb536ef sr=rpotts. cookie/wallet r=morse, xmlTerm r=saravn@mozdev.org, mailnews r=mscott, activeX r=adamlock, everything else covered by the sr from rpotts. 15345. These changes remove nsIDocumentLoaderObserver.idl from the build, and all of it's implementations and registrations have been moved over to nsIWebProgressListener.idl and nsIWebProgress.idl respectively. there are two (78762, 78760) mailnews printing bugs that I overturned *before* landing this. I've run this code through the mail-news and browser smoketests among other tests outlined in the patch description attatched to the bug.
