Software Requirements
Please note that Linux distributors may provide packages for your distribution
which have different requirements.
* Firefox will not run at all without the following libraries or packages:
o GTK+ 2.10 or higher
o GLib 2.12 or higher
o Pango 1.14 or higher
o X.Org 1.0 or higher
* For optimal functionality, we recommend the following libraries or
* packages:
o NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
o DBus 1.0 or higher
o HAL 0.5.8 or higher
o GNOME 2.16 or higher
Installing Firefox 2
Windows 2000/XP:
1. Insert the CD, the Firefox installer will start automatically.
2. Follow the prompts and instructions in the installer.
3. Double click on the "Mozilla Firefox" icon on your desktop and start
browsing.
Windows Vista:
1. Insert the CD.
2. Click on "Run FirefoxSetup3.0.exe" to start the installer.
3. Confirm that you wish to allow the installer to run.
4. Follow the prompts and instructions in the installer.
5. Double click on the "Mozilla Firefox" icon on your desktop
and start browsing.
Mac OS X:
1. Insert the CD.
2. Open the CD icon on your desktop.
3. Open the "Mac OS X" folder.
4. Open the Firefox 3 disk image (Firefox 3.0.dmg)
5. Drag the "Firefox" icon to your Applications folder.
6. Open your Applications folder and double click "Firefox" to start
browsing.
Linux:
1. Open the "Linux" folder.
2. Copy the archive file (firefox-3.0.tar.bz2) to the folder in which
you wish to install Firefox.
3. Extract Firefox from the archive using the command
"tar -xzvf firefox-3.0.tar.bz2"
