This is an ANGELON_MOZ12_BRANCH port of the patch for Bugzilla bug #202834
and the most recent patch for the reopened Bugzilla bug #195080.  Port
written by Mike Judge, reviewed by Simon Fraser, and tested by yours truly.
Various and sundry caret movement problems are now a thing of the past.
